When mother and daughter are diagnosed with cancer within a year of each other, their lives are turned upside down. But through it all, they find strength in each other and learn the true meaning of love and resilience.

In 2015, Sandy was diagnosed with breast cancer. Just a year later, her daughter, Katie, was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma.

"It was like a double whammy," Sandy said. "I couldn't believe that this was happening to my daughter."

Katie was only 22 years old when she was diagnosed. She was just starting her life and had so much to look forward to.

"I was scared and angry," Katie said. "I didn't know what the future held for me."

Sandy and Katie underwent treatment together. They supported each other through the tough times and celebrated each other's victories.

"We learned to take one day at a time," Sandy said. "We focused on the things we could control and tried to stay positive."

Katie said that her mother was her rock during her treatment.

"She was always there for me, no matter what," Katie said. "She helped me to stay strong and to keep fighting."

In 2017, Sandy and Katie both finished their treatment. They are both now cancer-free and are grateful for the experience that they shared.

"It was a difficult journey, but it brought us closer together," Sandy said. "We learned the true meaning of love and resilience."

Katie said that she is grateful for the second chance that she has been given.

"I am so lucky to have my mother by my side," Katie said. "She is my best friend and my biggest supporter."

Sandy and Katie have written a book about their journey called Mother and Daughter Cancer Journey: A Journey of Love, Resilience, and Triumph. The book is a powerful and inspiring story that offers hope to others who are facing cancer.

"We wanted to share our story to help others who are going through something similar," Sandy said. "We want them to know that they are not alone and that they can get through it."

Katie said that she hopes the book will help others to find strength and hope.

"We want people to know that even in the darkest of times, there is always hope," Katie said. "We want them to know that they are not alone and that they can get through it."
